A few years ago, Suzanne Eisenstark, CPA, from Texas, had gotten to the point in her practice where she was burnt out.

"I wasn't enjoying my work any longer," she says, "In my opinion, I was not giving good enough service; the work was good, but it wasn't getting out as fast as possible. I was spending my days staring at my backlog and wanted to be somewhere else.

"Then I got the CPA Today from Sterling, and I ordered the introduction video. The tape really hit home with me: that I didn't want to go on anymore the way I was operating and I realized I was the problem!

"So I just called Sterling," says Suzanne, "and I got a senior consultant on the phone. As it turned out I was in the process of hiring someone and the consultant gave me some very good tips on what to look for and how to hire someone even before I came out to Sterling.

"Soon afterwards I went out Glendale for the Sterling training and I started implementing all of that training as soon as I got back.

"I applied Sterling's communication system at first, because that seemed to be the biggest problem in the office and then I got the system of management by statistics implemented fairly quickly. Next I started working on the 'Admin Scale'. This is a scale which you work out for practice which helps you define the game you want to play and very much makes the practice into a game which is fun to play and fun to be involved in. This was something which I had not had for twelve years! It really raised the level of the office." Says Suzanne. "It changed the atmosphere in the office 180 degrees, form being very hassled with a lot of interruptions and not a lot being done, to being very high production. And the profits have just skyrocketed. And at the best part of it is since I went to Sterling I have taken off seven weeks of vacation in the last year. Meanwhile, the morale in the office is much higher because we're getting a lot more done. We're giving a lot better service to the clients, we're giving exchanges in abundance.

"Truthfully, before I got started with Sterling I was thinking of getting out of accounting. But now I feel in charge of the practice, instead of the practice being in charge of me!

"Every CPA should have Sterling, ' says Suzanne. "It would help the clients, and it would help the staff. And the owner, of course, benefits most of all. Sterling is just too awesome to pass up!

"Just one more thing, too, about the consultants: Above and beyond the courses that you take, and the management tools you get, you have someone you meet with once a month who helps you with things you didn't accomplish, or problems you may have. Or you may just deserve some congratulations for succeeding in some area. Whatever comes up, my consultant has the answer.

"In my opinion, every CPA should use Sterling because it would be great for our profession. We have a lot of unhappy people in accounting. Sterling would make everybody - the clients, the staff and the owners - so much happier."
